Yazghil Sar Expedition
The Yazghil Sar Expedition provides an exceptional opportunity to scale the enormous Karakoram Mountains in the Hispar Muztagh sub-range. Yazghil Sar Peak, at 7,324 meters (24,028 feet), is the 87th-highest peak in the world and the 37th-highest in Pakistan. c. Personal equipment transportation – Sherpas transport up to 10kg (22 lbs) of personal equipment up and down the mountain between camps.
Holiday Overview
Yazghil Sar features two summits, the lower of which is the South Summit. Local people graze on its lower slopes, increasing the region's cultural value.
The first successful trip to Yazghil Sar was conducted by Ernie McGlashan, Jack Brindle, and John O'Reilly in 1988 via the North Ridge of Yazghil Sar peak. Local and international climbers have shown increasing interest in reaching the summit and building base camps in this area over the years.
Yazghil Sar is normally reached after a two-day journey from Shimshal Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan. Shimshal Valley is connected to the Karakoram Highway via a jeep and 4x4 road, enabling access to the starting point of this thrilling trip.
Climbers should attempt the summit during the summer months, from May to August. The Karakoram Mountain Range, which includes Yazghil Sar, is a massive mountain range that stretches through Pakistan and China. It is famous for having some of the world's tallest peaks, including K2 and Nanga Parbat, and spans a massive 500-kilometer-long and 200-kilometer-wide territory.
